History of the building

Extropolis - Историческая часть здания построена по проекту Ф.О.Шехтеля

The Conference-Center EXTROPOLIS was opened in September 2003 in the historical part of Moscow – Trekhprudny side-street in the area of the famous Patriarchy Ponds, five minutes walk from the business center of Moscow – Tverskaya street.

The building where Conference-Center EXTROPOLIS is located combines different styles, forming a unique architectural space. The left wing belongs to the historical part of the building, constructed by the eminent architect of the modernist style era F.O.Shehtel in complex with the other buildings which surround our conference-center. In 1900 this building hosted Fast-Printing Partnership of A.A.Levenson – the printing house of the Emperor’s theaters which printed deluxe editions of books, albums, posters and theatrical programs.

The names of each hall of the Conference-Center EXTROPOLIS are related to the history of the Russian printing. These names keep the spirit of the first decades of the past century: “Vedomosti”, “Gudok”, “Afisha”, “Vestnik”, “Iskra”, “Vecherka”, “Slovo”.

While working in the Conference-Center EXTROPOLIS, during breaks in between trainings or seminars you can relax in the foyer – order a drink, read daily press or get acquainted with the new business literature at the display of Alpina Business Books, updated monthly.
